We Create Our Own Reality
Nobody says it better than Tony Robbins – “Beliefs Create and Beliefs Destroy.”
That’s a pretty powerful statement and here’s why it works, for all of us. Beliefs are what we are convinced is true. Therefore, they become what we focus on, what our thoughts turn to, what we argue for in conversations, and what we use to make decisions. All of that thought energy transmutes into our reality.
I have so much evidence of this process in my life: Because I believed I could, I put myself through college, traveled the world, became a pilot (3x-private, instrument, commercial), owned multiple successful businesses, wrote books, became a spiritual teacher, and helped change countless people’s lives. Most of my family and friends think I’ve done a lot, but all I did was create beliefs. The beliefs created the path, along with a little magic from the Universe.
I say, “When we step out in action, the tectonic plates of the Universe shift to support us.” I love the image of an animate universe constantly adjusting, under our feet, to support our every move.
Beliefs create the roadmap. But you have to take the steps in its direction, trusting that the Universe will have your back.
I’ve created a big new belief that a lot of you may disagree with. In fact, I usually get mocked when I speak it aloud to others. Here is my belief:
I believe we can change the world
If I had a dime for every time I heard someone say, “Things will never change,” I could, well, start a dime store. And I get it! It is hard to imagine ever changing the state of war and violence and greed that continually wreaks havoc on our world.
But I believe we can change the world. Try saying it out loud. I mean, really, right now, say the words. “I believe we can change the world.” Say it over and over again. Beliefs are powerful. And even more powerful when we believe them together. Together, we can change the world.
And now is the time. The changes and unrest and unsettled state of the world are ripe for change. It truly is the time to trailblaze a new path, a path where our energies are not wasted in destruction but, rather, applied toward abundance and wellness for all.
